- Don't worry about feeling stupid occasionally. Nobody is an expert in everything. Everybody sometimes has crises of self-doubt and feels that others are more brilliant than yourself. It helps to be aware that academic staff often feel like that about themselves too. There is sometimes an astringent atmosphere in this place, but if it is occasionally emotionally demanding it really is a price worth paying for the huge benefits you will receive.
